Several days ago, the HAQQ Network was targeted in a coordinated attack. The attacker exploited previously unknown vulnerabilities in smart contract precompiles, allowing them to fraudulently mint additional ISLM. Neither user funds nor validator funds were affected. Working together with our validator community, we halted the network to contain the incident and conducted a full investigation. Based on our findings, we deployed a coordinated network upgrade that: → Disabled the vulnerable precompile mechanism → Froze the fraudulently minted tokens, preventing any further use → Restored normal network operations The HAQQ Network is now live again. Block production has resumed, validators have upgraded, and all IBC channels are fully operational. At this time, the network is operating with the vulnerable precompiles disabled. As a result, the UCDAO, Ethiq, and LiquidVesting modules, along with EVM functionality that depends on these precompiles, remain temporarily unavailable. Our next step is a second software upgrade that will permanently fix the identified vulnerabilities, safely re-enable the precompiles, restore the affected modules and EVM functionality, and permanently remove the unauthorizedly minted tokens from circulation. A full technical post-mortem will be published once our investigation is complete. We thank our validators and community for their rapid coordination and support throughout this incident.
